Reading / Inferring

This week we revised Inferring.

First we had to do cloze,SSR selfie, and fact find.

Next we were with miss white, she told us more about inferring and she also did an example.

Then we had to do read a book while answering questions the book was called ” The kakangora”.

Lastly we did a task called key into Inference where we had to guess where they were, For example: Is this a weed, Dad? Do I pull it out? 

Where are they? In the Garden

I liked this task because I learnt more about inferring and I think I need to get better at helping my team,but I think I’m good at Inferring.

Skit

I made a skit based on a moral.

First I learned what a skit is. A skit is like a small short part of a story. To make a skit you need to have a message, problem, solution, characters, their descriptions, setting, and a script.

Next we wrote down messages for the skit, For example: Once a wolf always a wolf. And then we had to find a problem and a solution, a problem is a matter or situation and solution is when you solve a problem.

Lastly we wrote the actions and what the characters are going to say for the performance. Then I practised with my group saying our lines for the play.

 

Synthesising

This week we learned about how to synthesising.

First, Miss white showed us an example of what synthesising is we had to write our prior knowledge about kiwi’s [what we already know], and then we watched a video about kiwi’s and we had to write the new information.

Next we had mix the prior knowledge, new information together to make a new sentence, so about my new understanding.

Then, we went of to with a synthesising board and watched a video about penguins and we wrote what we already know and then we wrote down our new information, we gathered the new and old information together to make a new sentence, For example: Penguins spend up to 75% of their time in water so they can catch yummy fish.

Lastly I made a DLO.

PE / Netball

Today we learned some skills about Netball.

First we revised chest passing, we got into group of three, to pass you need to make a w with your hand and pass by your chest.

Next we did relay were we had to make a line spread out and pass the ball over and under we also did side to side passing.

Then we got into 2 teams and one team made a circle and they had to chest pass the ball to each other while the other team gets into a line and each person goes around the circle one by one, we had to try and beat the other team by how much passes.

Lastly we played a real game of Netball.

How to write a blog post

To write a blog post you need these 4 steps.

  1. The first thing is put a title.
  2. The next step is to put the text.
  3.  Then put your diagram.
  4. Then put a label.

The 4 things you need in your blog is a title, text, diagram, label.

Netball

Today we learned how to play netball.

First we practiced passing the ball and defending the ball. There were two defenders and there were two people to shoot the ball.

Next we had to get into two teams bibs and non-bibs and we had to get all of the balls from one hoop to the other, but we coulden’t run with the ball only the ones who did not have the ball could run. So we got into a line and pass the ball to each other.

Lastly we played a game called Jedi  netball. There was a Jedi which is a person who heals people if they are sitting down, we had to try and block the ball from hitting the Jedi if we catch the ball then the person who threw the ball has to sit down, we played 5 or 6 rounds and we lost.

I enjoyed playing Jedi netball, I think I did good at passing, I need to improve on getting people out by hitting the ball.

Venn Diagram

This week for inquriry I made a venn diagram.

First I had to pick a cultural story to compare to the Immortal white snake.

Next I made a venn diagram to add the diffrence about both story’s.

Lastly I had to write in whats is the similarities about the Immortal white snake and The lion and mouse

State your opinion

Opinion is the idea of a book of text made by a person.

The structure of a opinion is APE. A is for Assertion, P is for Proof, and E is for Explain. For example: who should get the teddy bear younger brother or the older brother, A – the younger brother should get the bear, P – He should get the teddy bear because he’s smaller, E – The younger brother should get the bear because the older brother has his own toys

 Assertion is telling your opinion. Proof is giving the evidence. Explain is explainging your evidence.

Opinions are used for making a someone think as the same as you. An opinion is to say what you think with evidence and an example.

Summarising

This week we learned how to summarise.

First we looked at a video it was about pip and we had to write 20 imporetent words, but the hard thing was that there was no words in the video.

Next we had to find 6 most importent words from the 20 importent words, for example, Pip,  little puppy , learn, practised, hard, guide dog.

Lastly I did a Sentences that flows, for example, Pip was a little puppy. He wanted to be a guide dog. He practised and practised, until it was the day of the competition.

Persuasive Text

This week for writing we learnt about a persuasive text.

First we had to highlit the reson for the text, for example, Mobile Wash I wrote an advertisement.

Lastly I explained the answer with detail, for example, Mobile wash is trying to make someone do call them so they can clean your carpets.

I enjoyed this task because I  learnt what a  persuasive text is, I need to improve on writing more details.I did well on explaining the text.
